REGA ("us", "we", or "our") offers a focus and productivity service (the "Service") through our iOS mobile application. REGA helps users manage their smartphone usage through focus sessions, location-based focus zones, community challenges, and app blocking features.

Your privacy is fundamental to how REGA works. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

What Data Stays Private on Your Device

App Blocking & Screen Time Data

REGA uses Apple's Screen Time framework to help you block distracting apps during focus sessions. We do not collect or transmit data about:

  • The list of apps installed on your phone
  • Which specific apps you block or allow in each focus session
  • Any content within your apps or phone usage patterns
  • Your Screen Time statistics or app usage data

All Screen Time data remains entirely on your device and is protected by Apple's privacy frameworks. REGA only facilitates blocking activation — we never see or store the specific apps you choose to block.

Information We Collect

To provide REGA's features, we collect the following types of data:

Personal Data

When you choose to join the leaderboard, we collect:

  • Username – For displaying your name on the leaderboard

We do not currently collect email addresses, payment information, or other personal identifiers.

Focus Session Data

To display leaderboard rankings, we collect:

  • Focus statistics – Total focus time for leaderboard display

We do not collect session duration, timestamps, which apps you block, or any details about your individual focus sessions. All session details remain private on your device.

Location Data

We do not collect any location data. If you use Focus Zones (location-based focus sessions), all location data remains entirely on your device. Your geographic coordinates, zone locations, and zone activity are processed locally and never transmitted to our servers.

Community & Social Data

When you choose to join the leaderboard, we collect:

  • Username – Your chosen display name on the leaderboard
  • Leaderboard rankings – Your position and total focus time compared to other users

We do not collect profile photos, bios, social interactions, or community session participation details.

Technical & Usage Data

We may collect minimal technical data to maintain and improve the Service:

  • Crash reports and diagnostics – Anonymous data to identify and fix bugs
  • App version information – To ensure compatibility

We do not collect device identifiers, detailed usage patterns, or notification preferences.

How We Use Your Data

The limited data we collect (username and focus statistics) is used solely to:

  • Display leaderboard rankings – Show your position and focus time compared to other users
  • Improve the Service – Analyze anonymized usage patterns to enhance features

All core functionality (focus sessions, app blocking, zones, personal statistics) operates locally on your device without requiring data collection.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

Service Providers

  • Supabase – Our backend database provider for storing leaderboard data (see Supabase Privacy Policy)
  • Analytics providers – Anonymized usage data to improve app performance

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your data if required to:

  • Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests
  • Protect our legal rights, property, or safety
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or Terms of Service violations
  • Protect the safety of users or the public

Business Transfers

If REGA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred to the successor organization. You will be notified prior to transfer.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service and maintain your account
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

When you delete your account:

  • Your profile, session history, and community data are permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be retained for analytics

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your data – Request a copy of data we hold about you
  • Correct your data – Update inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your data – Request permanent deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of marketing – Unsubscribe from promotional communications
  • Withdraw consent – Revoke permissions like location or notifications
  • Data portability – Export your data in a machine-readable format

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted transmission – All data is transmitted over HTTPS
  • Secure storage – Data is stored in Supabase with encryption at rest
  • Access controls – Limited employee access to personal data
  • Regular security audits – To identify and fix vulnerabilities

However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

Analytics & Advertising

We may use third-party analytics tools to understand app usage:

  • Analytics providers – May track app opens, feature usage, and crash reports
  • Advertising networks – If we display ads, partners may use cookies and device identifiers

You can limit tracking through iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking > REGA (toggle off).

Children's Privacy

REGA is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use REGA.

If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it immediately. Contact us at hi@joinrega.com if you believe we have such data.

International Users

REGA is based in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to the U.S. and other countries where we operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

We comply with applicable data protection regulations, including GDPR for European users and CCPA for California residents.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights:

  • Right to know – What personal data we collect and how we use it
  • Right to delete – Request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to opt-out – Opt out of data sales (we do not sell data)
  • Non-discrimination – We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

  • In-app notice – Prominent notification when you open REGA

Continued use of REGA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
